Get ready to take your photography in a whole new direction and see light as you never have before!
This class does NOT require professional photography or lighting equipment! Demonstrations will use off-camera flash.

Macro Photography: Finding the Beauty of Detail in the Natural World (Field Workshop)

Focus your lens on the small details of life and be prepared to look at the world around you in a whole new way! Enjoy a day outdoors at UCSC Arboretum where we will enjoy focusing our lenses on the details provided in the extensive gardens of rare plant collections. We will review the unique aspects of macro photography, lenses, lights and other tools, depth of field control and focus stacking as well as creative composition techniques.

Wear comfortable shoes for hiking, sunscreen, water, a sun hat is advisable. You don’t need special cameras or lenses for this class, even cell phones will work great.

Explore the beauty and power of poetry in this highly interactive writing workshop.
